While attending an autograph signing event at a Philadelphia mall, Lenny Dykstra and Mitch Williams got into a brief skirmish in front of fans and former teammate Darren Daulton.
The three were part of the Phillies team that lost the World Series to the Blue Jays 20 years ago. Williams threw the pitch Joe Carter slapped for a walkoff home run, and as Tom Mahon of Philly.com notes, Dykstra didn’t handle it well.
That moment never set well with Dykstra, who 2 years ago told NBC10’s John Clark that he kept in touch with all of 1993 Phillies teammates, “except Mitch.”
“After what he put me through . . . torture, [bleeping] torture,” Dykstra told Clark. “The guy hit barrel after barrel. He lost the World Series.”
Mitch slapped his hand awAy and pushed him and said to dykstra get the f… Out of my way. Dykstra said Mitch I was just trying to say hi
The two’s exchange was narrated on Twitter by fans at the event, one of whom shared video with Crossing Broad.
